FAQ
-
Will removing my solar system turn off the electricity to my home?Nope. Deenergizing your solar system will not have any affect on your household electricity. However, while the system is removed or deenergized, you will not be contributing the generated solar energy back to the grid.
-
What is the expected turnaround time to complete my solar detach and reset?Every system and scenario is unique, and often determined by the roofing schedule, but we always strive to complete each project within 15 business days of removing the solar system.
-
Will my original warranty be voided? The manufacturer’s warranty covers all installed solar equipment most commonly for a period of 25 years or more. If there are issues or malfunctions with the equipment within that coverage period, it is the manufacturer's responsibility to address and correct those issues. To provide additional protection, Daybreak offers a 5-year workmanship and penetration warranty to cover any discrepancies that may arise due to our workmanship or leaks caused by our roof penetrations.
-
Where is the solar equipment staged while my roof is being repaired or replaced?99% of the time the solar equipment is removed and staged on-site at the property owners discretion. Solar equipment is very resilient and built to withstand outdoor conditions, so any general area that is out of the way and clear of falling roof debris is suitable for storage. Fence lines, back patios, side yards, and garages are the most common places to store your equipment.
-
What is the payment schedule?Unless otherwise agreed upon, 50% payment is due upon completion of the detach, and the remaining 50% balance is due upon completion of the reset. The reset phase is not scheduled until the first 50% payment is received.
-
Do I need to be home for my solar detach and reset? As long as our crews have access to the solar staging area and electrical wall, and all pets are secured while we’re completing our work, it is not necessary for you to be present while we detach or reset your solar system.
-
Will you work with my insurance company?Sure will. We work with insurance companies often to provide estimates or supplement support. We’ll work with your insurance company to submit all required documentation and deliverables.
